Alder Hey Toy Appeal
A Small Gesture, A Big Difference
Some things remind you why what you do matters.
As Christmas approached, we wanted to do something that went beyond the usual festive cheer. Hospitals are never easy places to be, especially for children and their families, and Christmas can make that even harder. So this year, we asked our clients, candidates and colleagues to join us in supporting a Toy Appeal for Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
The response was incredible.
Thanks to the generosity of so many people in and around the Rogers McHugh Recruitment network, we were able to donate a huge number of toys to Alder Hey, helping to bring a little joy to children who are facing some of the toughest moments of their young lives.
This appeal was brilliantly organised by Hannah, who pulled everything together and made sure the donations kept coming. It’s another great example of how much passion and care exists within our team when it comes to giving something back.
We were recently honoured to receive a letter from Alder Hey Children’s Charity thanking us for the donation. In it, they explained how contributions like this play a vital role in creating a more positive hospital experience for their patients – supporting play, rehabilitation and recovery, and most importantly, helping children still be children.
One of Rogers McHugh Recruitment’s founding values has always been to support both local and national communities, and to use our position and network to make a genuine difference. This toy appeal was a simple idea, but one that has had a real impact, especially at a time of year that should be filled with warmth, excitement and smiles.
We’re incredibly proud of everyone who donated, shared the appeal, or helped behind the scenes. What might feel like a small gesture to one person can mean everything to a child spending Christmas in hospital.
A huge thank you again to Alder Hey Children’s Charity for the amazing work they do every day – and to everyone who helped us support such a special cause.
