Managing Quantity Surveyor

SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR £47-54k DOE

Commercial property construction company are looking for a Senior QS to join them on a permanent basis. You will be reporting to the Head of Commercial and responsible for 3 Quantity Surveyors, ensuring the effective commercial delivery and cost control of projects from inception to completion. 

This client are an award-winning Construction and Property Management company based in the heart of Stockport. You will be joining a thriving team and be involved in the Supply chain procurement, tendering and estimating, managing monthly project cost and producing reports. 

Responsibilities and duties

• Ensure projects are delivered within budgets and timescales ensuring profit margins are achieved. 
• Provide accurate, real time monthly reports, final outcome forecasts and project cash flows to demonstrate commercial performance. 
• Carry out tender analysis, subcontractor and supplier procurement management and payment of subcontractor accounts. 
• Manage all aspects of the surveying team and individual staff performances.
• Liaise with subcontractors and operations team.

The candidate

The client are looking for someone who is methodical, analytical and conscientious with great attention to detail. They must be resilient and focused and deliver projects accurately and timely. You must be able to work well under pressure and work to high standards.

Qualifications required

• RICS or relevant QS / Construction specific qualifications at degree level or above and at least 4 years senior level.
• Proven success of winning business through formal procurement processes. 
• Excellent understanding of the Construction industry and H&S
• Experience managing a team
• Advanced IT skills (Excel, word and cost management systems)
