ESTIMATOR - FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - $95,000 - $130,000k Depending on experience/role

 

My client are a highly established General Contractor in the Fort Lauderdale area, who deliver projects across Florida and multiple other states across the US. They are currently looking to bring on multiple Estimators due to an increase in works. 

The works consist of predominately Industrial projects from Data centres to Warehouses to large Industrial projects ranging from small works up to $350m, alongside commercial, healthcare, education, governmental and LEED projects... meaning you will always have fresh projects to stick your teeth into!

Having worked on Industrial projects would be but not necessary. However, you must be in an Estimating role with a General Contractor commutable to Fort Lauderdale for this role. You must be ambitious and want to build with an established contractor. 

The role will be varied (and dependent on the level of seniority of applicant) but duties will include:

 

• Receive and review clients RFP's.
• Prepare bid documents and subcontractor ITBs. 
• Review and scope drawings, specifications and project manuals. 
• Prepare detailed and job-specific scopes of work. 
• Procure, scope and file subcontractor proposals. 
• Provide value engineering. 
• Prepare project schedules.
• Subcontractor buy-out and contract negotiation.
• Attend and document project site visits and walk-thoughts. 
• Assist the Project team as it relates to pricing changes, owner/subcontractor change orders and scope concerns. 

What will you need to be successful

• Minimum of 5 years' experience estimating commercial/industrial construction projects to include new/ground up constriction, interior renovation and fit out projects up to $20m. 
• Must be experienced in quantity take-offs. 
• Must have the ability to read drawings and interpret specifications. 
• Prior experience with multiple bid styles. 
• Efficient in Microsoft project, office and PlanSwift. 
• BCCE/Construction Management qualification highly desirable.
