Graduate Quantity Surveyor- Corby


My client is looking for an Graduate QS/ Estimator based in Corby 
Responsibilities include: 

•    Prepare and price tenders ready to send with commercial managers approval.
•    Prepare subcontractor bid packages
•    Show creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors
•    Prepare subcontractor packages and contracts.
•    Have a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned
•    Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline.
•    Review bid requirements thoroughly and asks follow-up question on every bid
•    Develop RFI's and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage
•    Include value-engineering ideas on every bid in order to the give the client best value
•    Review awarded tender drawings with Project team and highlight areas of concern
•    Highlighting sub-contractors and materials that require lead times for design and materials
•    Seek & qualify new subcontractors and suppliers in line with tender and HSQE requirements
•    Handle all subcontractor interactions in a manner designed to build a long-term relationship.
•    To assist in maximising cashflow through the control, measurement and valuation of work and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers
•    Travel and visit sites nationwide when the business requires
•    Report findings and highlight any issues to senior management on a weekly basis.
•    Support the Commercial Manager with any requirements within the department.

•    Support the authorization and submission of project variations. To authorize the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders.

•    Ensure projects proceed to Client’s specification and satisfaction.
•    Value work executed by sub-contractors and certify interim and final payments.

•    Track changes to the work/ design and adjust budget projections accordingly. 

•    Prepare financial and progress data for meetings and payments, as required.

•    Ensure compliance with all company and HSQE procedures.

•    Maintain auditable records.

•    Ensure final accounts are prepared timely and accurately

•    Travel and visit sites nationwide when the business requires.

•    Report findings and highlight any issues to senior management on a weekly basis.

•    All other duties required by the business.
