MEP DESIGN MANAGER

My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Design Manager to join a thriving team in the commercial fit-out construction industry. As the MEP Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for our commercial fit-out projects, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the MEP design team, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the design and coordination process.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop MEP design strategies that align with project requirements and client expectations.
• Review and approve MEP design drawings, calculations, specifications, and other documents for accuracy, compliance with codes and standards, and coordination with other trades.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of MEP systems during pre-construction and construction phases to identify potential issues and recommend solutions to ensure efficient installation and operation.
• Coordinate with external consultants, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of MEP equipment and materials, and oversee the installation and commissioning of MEP systems.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor MEP design progress, quality, and compliance with project specifications and requirements.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases, and address any MEP-related issues or conflicts that may arise during the project.
• Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and standards related to MEP systems, and implement best practices to improve design and construction processes.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior design team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge in MEP design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in MEP design and coordination within the commercial fit-out construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, codes, and standards.
• Proficient in using MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review and analyze complex MEP design documents.
• Experience in managing MEP design teams and coordinating with various stakeholders.
• Professional certifications related to MEP systems (e.g., PE, LEED, etc.) are preferred.
