Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Shopfit Construction

Location: Southampton

Summary: Seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, budgeting, and financial oversight for a variety of commercial construction projects, including:

• Shopfits,
• Restaurants,
• Fast Food Establishments,
• Bars,
• Cocktail Bars

This role requires a sharp eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and subcontractors. 

Responsibilities:

• Accurately estimate project costs based on design plans and specifications.
• Manage project budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to financial targets.
• Source materials, services, and subcontractors at competitive prices.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids and recommend cost-effective options.
• Monitor contract compliance, change orders, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide regular progress and cost reports to stakeholders.
• Certify subcontractor payment applications and invoices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders for effective project execution.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in commercial construction.
• Familiarity with shopfitting, restaurant, and bar projects is a plus.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
• Ability to work in Southampton.
• Compensation rates are open to negotiation based on experience.
