SENIOR QS/ PROJECT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

GATESHEAD

I am recruiting for a leading Main Contractor in the construction industry, specialising in delivering high-quality construction projects across the North East and West. They are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior QS/ Project QS to join their team.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior QS/Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying for construction projects. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and reviewing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
  • Conducting cost analysis, cost control, and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Procuring subcontractor packages, evaluating subcontractor quotations, and negotiating contracts.
  • Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions, as well as relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient cost management and financial reporting.
  • Managing risk and providing recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation and records.

 

ABOUT YOU

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably with a Main Contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, pricing, and cost management.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in relevant quantity surveying software and tools.
  • Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS) is desirable.
