Job Title: Drylining QS / Estimator

Location: Hull, United Kingdom

Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Drylining QS / Estimator to join our team in Hull. This is a crucial role within our company, and we are open to candidates who specialize in either Quantity Surveying (QS) or Estimating, but preference will be given to individuals who possess expertise in both areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation: Calculate the costs associated with drylining projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and overheads.

  2. Quantity Surveying: Perform detailed quantity surveys to assess the scope of work required for drylining projects.

  3. Tender Preparation: Prepare comprehensive tender documents, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.

  4. Vendor and Supplier Management: Source and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating pricing and terms.

  5. Budget Management: Monitor project budgets throughout the lifecycle and provide cost control measures.

  6. Project Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate cost forecasting and efficient project execution.

  7. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in drylining projects and develop mitigation strategies.

  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all project-related documentation, including contracts, invoices, and change orders.

  9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

  10. Cost Analysis: Analyse project costs and performance to identify areas for cost savings and process improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Drylining Quantity Surveyor or Estimator.
  • Strong knowledge of drylining materials, processes, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hull-based or willing to relocate to Hull.
