Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As an Assistant QS, you will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and project teams to support the successful delivery of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets, and cost estimates
- Conducting material and supplier research to ensure value for money while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborating with project teams to monitor and control costs, ensuring projects are delivered within budget
- Assisting in preparing and reviewing financial reports, including cost forecasts and cash flow projections
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth and timely procurement of materials and services
- Assisting in negotiating and managing subcontractor agreements, assessing variations, and resolving any disputes that may arise
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including quantity take-offs, measurement records, and cost tracking
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Previous experience in a similar role within the interior design or construction industry is preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in using MS Office, specifically Excel, to analyse data and generate reports
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with relevant software tools such as AutoCAD or Revit is a plus
