A highly sought-after opportunity to work with an exceptional electrical service operating in the south of England. Due to an increase in workload and projects they are looking at significantly increasing their workforce. They require an experienced and dedicated individual to join our established team of Electrical Engineers. This is a diverse role; you will be expected to carry out reactive/ planned maintenance works, small-scale quoted installation works and remedials following PMV EML tests and EICR. This role requires a high level of capability and confidence to test and work independently on a broad range of electrical installations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out works in Bristol, Sommerset, Devon, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire.

 

The Duties

  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance works in accordance with contractual KPI’s.
  • Undertake refurbishment & installation works of all aspects of electrical services, including electrical switchgear, distribution boards, mains and sub-mains cabling, containment, lighting and other electrical equipment.
  • Advise the store manager of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the running of the store.
  • Carry out minor alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications.
  • Work with company and Co-op colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, CBES HSE management systems, procedures or instructions as they apply and to ensure that all direct reports are adequately trained and follow safe systems of work.
  • Attend training courses as and where necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years fully qualified experience and comfortable working alone.
  • Ability to carry out fault finding and testing across a range of electrical installs and systems.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment.
  • BS2391-32 Inspection and Testing or previous equivalent, Preferred but not essential.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • Confident and the Ability to fill out job sheets and test certificates electronically (we currently use Big Change and Pronett as our job management software, and EasyCert for all our test certificates).
  • Willingness to carry out emergency attendance when required.
  • ECS card – Gold or better (Preferred but not essential).
  • Basic fire alarm system understanding preferred but not essential. Training available.
