Site Engineer - Norwich

Job Title: Temporary Site Engineer

Project: New Build McDonald’s Restaurant & Associated Civils

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Temporary Site Engineer for a 9-month contract based in Norwich, working on the construction of a new build McDonald’s including all associated civil engineering and groundwork elements.

This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive and competent engineer to manage all aspects of setting out and site engineering on a busy, fast-paced site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General setting out duties for all aspects of the project

  • Cut and fill operations and associated level checks

  • Setting out and overseeing drainage installation

  • Kerbing and road construction

  • Installation of underground tanks and attenuation systems

  • Construction of new car parks and access roads

  • Supervision and setting out of cast-in-situ concrete structures

  • Coordination with site management and subcontractors to maintain progress

  • Ensuring works are delivered to specification and programme

  • Maintain accurate site records and as-built information

Requirements:

  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or similar)

  • Previous experience working on civils packages for new builds

  • Confident in using setting out equipment (Total Station, GPS, etc.)

  • Ideally will have own instruments (Total Station/GPS), although not essential

  • CSCS card required

  • Strong communication and coordination skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team
