Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Bonus

Overview
A specialist Design & Build contractor operating within the healthcare sector is seeking a Site Manager to join its growing delivery team.
With a turnover of approximately £30m, the business delivers specialist healthcare facilities for NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers across the UK. Projects range from refurbishment and extension works through to complex new-build developments designed to accommodate specialist medical equipment and clinical environments.
Due to a growing pipeline of secured work, the company is looking to appoint a Site Manager to oversee projects from site mobilisation through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Current projects include two major healthcare developments in Leeds and Derby valued between £6m and £7m, involving the construction of specialist facilities to house MRI and X-ray equipment. These schemes include significant structural elements, reinforced concrete construction and specialist installation requirements.
The successful candidate will be willing to work away from home as required and will join a business offering long-term career prospects within a specialist and expanding sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from site setup through to practical completion
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and coordinate all site activities
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour on site
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
- Monitor progress against programme and report updates to senior management
- Maintain high standards of quality throughout the construction process
- Coordinate project activities with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures, inspections and site documentation are maintained
- Manage project logistics, sequencing of works and site resources
- Attend and lead site meetings as required
- Support successful project handover and client satisfaction
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a Main Contractor
- Experience delivering construction projects from inception through to completion
- Comfortable managing projects valued at £5m+
- Strong understanding of programme management, subcontractor coordination and project delivery
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Client-facing and commercially aware
- Willing to work away from home on nationwide projects when required
- Based within approximately two hours of Halifax
Qualifications
- SMSTS
- CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work
- Full UK Driving Licence
Package
- £50,000 – £60,000 basic salary
- £5,000 car allowance
- Bonus scheme of up to 10% of salary, paid twice yearly
