About the business
We are working with an independent construction consultancy based in Preston who are looking to appoint an Associate Director to support the continued growth of the business.
The business works on behalf of clients across a range of sectors and is currently at an exciting stage of its growth. This is a senior position within the business, with responsibility for managing projects, developing client relationships, bringing in new business and supporting the development of the wider team.
There is also further progression available into Director and other senior leadership positions as the business continues to grow.
About you
- Experienced Associate Director or an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step into an Associate Director position
- Proven ability to independently manage larger projects
- Confident managing key client relationships and acting as a senior point of contact
- Commercially astute with a strong understanding of client-side Quantity Surveying
- Strong business development skills and a proven ability to develop new and existing client relationships
- Comfortable mentoring and managing junior members of the team
- Passionate about Quantity Surveying and committed to continued professional development
- MRICS essential
- BSc in Quantity Surveying preferred, although HND or equivalent qualifications will be considered
- Consultancy, main contractor or developer background considered
- Subcontractor background not suitable
Duties
- Take overall responsibility for larger projects from early feasibility and design stages through to completion
- Provide commercial and cost advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Take ownership of key client relationships and become a trusted point of contact
- Develop existing client relationships and identify opportunities for new business
- Lead on business development and contribute to winning new work
- Manage and mentor junior members of the team, supporting their professional development
- Provide guidance and oversight across the wider project portfolio
- Work closely with the Directors on the continued growth and development of the business
- Take an active role in shaping the future direction of the consultancy
- Progress towards a Director position and other senior leadership opportunities as the business grows
