Estimator / Senior Estimator
Office Location: Stoke-on-Trent (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000

An established property maintenance, refurbishment, compliance and decarbonisation specialist is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join their growing estimating team based in Stoke-on-Trent.
With more than 700 colleagues across the country, the business delivers bespoke services and solutions to a wide range of clients. With ambitious growth plans over the next three years, the estimating team will play a key role in improving the success of tenders and supporting the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As an Estimator or Senior Estimator, you’ll play a key role in supporting continued growth. Working closely with the Bid and Operational teams, you’ll produce accurate, competitive pricing for tenders with both new and existing clients, primarily within a social housing refurbishment environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and processing quotations, bids and tenders
- Preparing supplier and subcontractor enquiries, reviewing quotations and supporting the selection process
- Producing quantities for building works to support accurate project pricing
- Assessing material, labour and plant requirements when compiling tenders
- Producing tender breakdowns and substantiation, including value engineering to meet client budget requirements
- Liaising with operational teams, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to establish project specifications, preliminary requirements, risks and exclusions
- Attending and contributing to meetings with colleagues, clients and customers when required
- Assessing commercial and operational risks associated with tender submissions
- Measuring jobs from inception using SMM7, NRM or similar methods
Requirements
- Experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator, ideally within a social housing refurbishment, property services, maintenance or construction environment
- Confident pricing works from first principles and experience of cost planning, with the attention to detail needed to produce accurate, commercially sound tenders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable pricing larger-scale projects, while also managing multiple smaller tenders at the same time
- Experience using Causeway or similar estimating software would be advantageous
- Commercially minded and collaborative
