Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in procurement, ideally within the construction industry

Job Description:
As a Buyer/Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects within the Education, Healthcare, and Social Housing sectors. You will be responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services essential to the successful execution of our projects while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, source, and procure materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and project specifications.

Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating terms and conditions, and managing supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effectiveness.

Cost Management: Monitor and control project budgets by analysing and comparing supplier quotes, negotiating prices, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Quality Assurance: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that purchased materials and equipment meet project quality and safety standards.

Contract Management: Prepare and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.

Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new products to make informed procurement decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, reorder points, and lead times to avoid shortages and excess inventory.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to procurement activities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to project timelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in the construction market.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, with a proven track record in the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and market trends.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
