About Us:
We are a well-established and highly regarded retail fit-out contractor based in Birmingham, delivering bespoke, fit-out projects for leading high street food retail brands. As we continue to expand, we are looking to recruit a skilled Supply Chain Manager to oversee and enhance our supply chain operations, ensuring our projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Role Overview:
As the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and improving the supply chain function for our retail fit-out projects. You will be responsible for managing a team that includes a Transport Manager and a Supply Chain Coordinator while sourcing new trades to expand our network. Your leadership and strategic oversight will ensure that the supply chain is resilient, cost-effective, and able to meet the demands of our fast-paced and dynamic projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the supply chain, including logistics, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Manage and support the Transport Manager and Supply Chain Coordinator, ensuring their roles align with project requirements and deadlines.
  • Source and build relationships with new trades and suppliers to enhance and expand the company’s supply chain network.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and maintain supply chain performance, ensuring optimal material flow and timely deliveries.
  • Develop and implement processes and strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards across all supply chain activities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement, and other key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
  • Oversee and manage the resolution of any issues or delays within the supply chain.
  • Analyse and report on supply chain performance, identifying opportunities for cost-saving and process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably within the construction or retail fit-out sector.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and onboard new suppliers and trades, expanding the supply chain network.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and supply chain management software.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics, procurement, and inventory management processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • A problem-solving mindset with a focus on driving efficiency and reducing costs.
